Young carers grow up carrying responsibilities that leave little room for rest, play, or connection. Too many young carers face sacrificing their own wellbeing, both physical and mental, in order to care for a loved one. Opportunities to simply enjoy childhood, spend time with friends, try something new, or take part in activities outside the home are limited. As a result, many young carers bear feelings of stress and isolation, on top of their responsibilities.
At MYTIME, we believe every young carer deserves moments of joy, freedom, and belonging. Our Making Memories programme is designed to give young carers the breaks they need and the experiences they so often miss out on.
Making Memories hosts beloved activity days filled with fun, laughter, and chances to try something completely new and exciting. These are organised and run by the MYTIME team in collaboration with our network of brilliant volunteers and range all the way from sports, to crafts, to dance, to music, and so much more. We create spaces where young carers can relax, connect, and just be themselves, and when joining in-person isn’t possible, our popular online Zoom Youth Group ensures no one is left out.

Hosted during school holidays, these action-packed days allow young carers to connect in person and try exciting new things together, as part of a community.
Our weekly online sessions feature activities ranging from crafts, to baking, to themed parties. Young carers can relax and have fun from the comfort of home.
Young carers connected in-person and met other young people just like themselves. Not only does this help to build confidence and a network of support, but it demonstrates that if you are a young carer, you are not alone.
