Our Programmes

We understand that caring responsibilities can affect a child's life in complex and far-reaching ways. We also know that each young carer has unique needs, at different stages of life. That’s why we offer a range of bespoke programmes, each carefully designed to address a different area of need and to provide a different kind of support, with incredible benefits.

Level Up Programme

Level Up is our award-winning partnership programme with schools, equipping teachers and members of staff with the training, confidence, and frameworks to properly identify young carers within their classrooms and support them correctly. We take a whole-school approach to deliver a holistic provision rather than a tick-box exercise, co-creating policies and processes that are bespoke to each school. Awarded the Children & Youth Prize from The Charity Awards 2025, this is a life-changing initiative that ensures that young carers are seen, supported, and set up for every future success in adulthood.

MAKING MEMORIES PROGRAMME

Due to caring responsibilities, young carers miss out on many of the moments that shape childhood. Our name, “MYTIME”, reflects our commitment to changing this by creating opportunities for young carers to simply enjoy being young - Making Memories is the programme that does just that. Offering in-person ‘Activity Days’ - joyful events designed to give young carers a break while building confidence, fostering friendships, reducing stress, and connecting with community. For remote activities, our weekly Zoom Youth Group helps young carers connect from the comfort of their homes.

EMPLOYABILITY PROGRAMME

Young adult carers face increased difficulty in the workforce, with 49% being currently unemployed, which is why our Employability programme was designed to tackle this head-on. Open to young carers between the ages of 14-25, this programme equips young carers with strategies, experiences, and life skills to flourish in employment. Employability provides CV workshops, mock interviews, financial education sessions and in-person days in the workplace in our brilliant network of participating businesses.

EQUITY FOR YOUNG CARERS PROJECT

This is our new nationwide collaboration initiative to end the postcode lottery of support for young carers. The project is a team effort by nature; we want to unite with, and work alongside, other exceptional young carer organisations.

We aim to showcase and celebrate impactful work across the country and build a national framework of good practice.

CCP

Our brand-new Community Champion Programme (CCP) tackles barriers young carer families face in joining community activities. 57% of community leaders and activity providers acknowledge that they lack confidence in identifying and support young carers. There is an urgent need to improve their childhood experiences and support in community spaces. Through CCP, clubs can become Young Carer Aware (YCA) or Young Carer Friendly (YCF), rebranding as supportive, inclusive spaces that understand young carers and encourage participation in welcoming environments.

YOUTH ACTION & ADVISORY BOARD

The Youth Action & Advisory Board (YAAB), founded by MYTIME, champions youth voice and the lived experience of young carers. With young carers as both trustees and board members, their drive for change is remarkable.

Led by chair Jemima, the eight YAAB members have advised on key aspects of MYTIME’s work and played a major role in direct action and national campaigns. This dedicated, safe platform ensures young carers’ voices are genuinely heard and acted upon.
